A plot by the Imo State Governor, Rochas Anayo Okorocha to use the judiciary to realize his ambition to install his son in-law, Uche Nwosu as the next governor of Imo State has been uncovered.

It was gathered at the weekend that despite the fact that Senator Hope Uzodimma who was declared winner of the Imo All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship primaries on October 1, 2018 and has secured a High Court injunction restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the APC from fielding and/ or accepting the name of any other person except his (Uzodimma), Okorocha has been forum jumping from court to court  in the last few days to get an injunction on the matter.

A source who is privy to the scheming of the governor said Rochas and his team held a nocturnal meeting for the purpose on Friday in Owerri, Imo State where the governor made it clear that he would do everything within his powers to ensure that his desire to install Uche Nwosu as governor in 2019 is not aborted.

He is said to have boasted at the meeting that already, he has bought over members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC who are ready to do his bidding but that his major obstacle now is the judiciary which is not willing to give in but has vowed to play by the rules.

According to the source, it was at the meeting that the Imo Governor resolved and promised to release massive funds through dependable and trusted contacts to penetrate some of the judges with the aim of either over turning the interim order in favour of Senator Hope Uzodimma or an outright restraining order.

The question on the lips of many Imo indigenes now is why can’t Rochas put his inordinate ambition in check and let the court do its job?

They noted that Uzodimma as a law-abiding citizen is handling the matter the way every gentleman should and are waiting to see how the judiciary will over-turn itself.
