Volume of activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange Thursday declined by 54.67 per cent despite growth profile recorded in the market.
The NSE trading result showed that volume of transactions increased by 209.581 million as Investors traded 173.748 million shares valued at N2.132 billion in 3646 deals against 383.289 million shares worth N3.892 billion in 3860 deals.
Market capitalisation of listed equities increased by N26 billion or 0.20 per cent to N13.005 trillion from N12.979 trillion traded on Wednesday,
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index also increased by 48.30 basis points to 24930.34 points from 24882.04 points reported the previous day.
An analysis of the investment showed that Seplat Petroleum Development led gainers table during the day, appreciating by N29.00 to close at N350.00, Stanbic IBTC group followed with a gain of N1.50 kobo to close at N33.00, Guinness Nigeria Plc added N0.50 kobo to close at N13.50 kobo, MTN Nigeria Communications added N0.50 kobo to close at N118.50 kobo, Nascon gained N0.40 kobo to close at N10.00.
On the contrary, BUA Cement topped losers chart during the day, dropping by N0.70 kobo to close at N39.50 kobo, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc trailed with a loss of N0.40 kobo to close at N5.00, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc down by N0.20 kobo to close at N19.20 kobo, May and Baker Nigeria Plc fell by N0.10 kobo to close at N2.80 kobo while LearnAfrica declined by N0.07 kobo to close at N0.94 kobo.
FBNHoldings was the toast of investors during the day, exchanging 29.775 million shares worth N150.248 million, Guaranty Trust Bank followed with account of 13.157 million shares cost N312.617 million. Custodian Investment traded 12.849 million shares cost N64.247 million, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria sold a total of 10.749 million shares worth N6.651 million, Wapco exchanged 9.963 million shares valued at N116.627 million.
