PDP Says Obaseki’s Achievements Would Be Selling Point During Campaign


The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) says Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki’s achievements in the last four years would be the party’s selling point during campaigns ahead of the September 19, 2020 governorship election.

The Chairman of Edo PDP campaign council, Chief Dan Orbih, who was speaking during a stakeholders session held at the Government House in Benin City, the Edo State capital, said the statewide campaigns will start on Monday, August 3, 2020.

According to a statement issued by the campaign council’s Chairman, Sub-committee on Publicity, Chris osa nehikhare, the PDP said it would not be intimidated in the Edo governorship election, “even with the opposition having the backing of the Federal Government and the unleashing of its lion and tigers.”

Speaking after a stakeholders session at the Government House in Benin City, the Edo State capital,the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Governor Aminu Tambuwal alleged that “the Federal Government in many previous elections had deployed federal agencies in its favour.”

On his part, the party’s governorship candidate, Obaseki, noted that all perpetrators of political violence in the state would be caught and dealt with.
