Five People Killed In Borno Bomb Blasts

At least five people have been killed in explosions that rocked Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The explosions were said to have resulted from twin bomb blasts on Thursday evening.

The first of the blasts was at a residential area in the Gunge part of the city while a second occurred in an area where cars were sold.

Mr Mohammed Ndatsu, who is the Commissioner of Police in the state, confirmed the casualty figure to Channels Television.

He added that the attack was carried out by insurgents.
