The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Edo Governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has accused the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) of fretting over the strong and capable national campaign committee named by his party for the state’s election and premeditating their expected electoral loss with what he called “defeatist statements and empty ramblings.”

In a statement released by his Campaign Organization and endorsed by Mr. John Mayaki, Director of Communication and Media, Ize-Iyamu urged the party to focus on putting its divided house in order instead of blaming their woes on the national campaign committee of the APC.

He said: “The PDP should look elsewhere and leave members of our campaign team out of their political nightmare, impending failure, and political predicaments.”

“The PDP, at present, is like a drowning man or better put, a schoolboy who wouldn’t prepare for exams but heap blames on the teacher and throw childish tantrums with cries of “he doesn’t like my face”

“The statement by Kola Ologbondiyan is glaring evidence of an unprepared and cowering party, intimidated by the strength of the APC’s national campaign team and sadly aware of its lack of capacity to summon any such list because of its diminished status across the country, especially in Edo State.”

“To date, after the irresponsible primaries it held, the PDP has failed to present any meaningful thing by way of policy or successes of the man their tax collectors imposed on the other members to the people of Edo State. Instead, they have made it a pastime to obsess over the activities of the APC with their insecurity occasionally seeping out through embarrassing outbursts such as Kola Ologbodinyan’s latest blubbering characterized by false and irrelevant tropes.”

“They have seen the handwriting on the wall and they are terrified of the fate that will befall them on the 19th of September, hence the deployment of every excuse in the books. The obsession with the APC, particularly, Governors Umar Ganduje, Hope Uzodinma, and Yahaya Bello whom they now blame for everything wrong with their party, including personal domestic problems, is merely preparatory excuses and dress rehearsals for their projected woeful outing on Election Day.”
