Obaseki Boosts Security On Edo Waterways, Procures Gunboats, Others

In furtherance of its efforts to boost security on the state’s waterways and protect the lives and property of the citizenry, the Edo State Government has purchased more armoured gunboats and speedboats to curb criminal activities along its coastal areas and waterways.

Speaking with journalists immediately after delivering the speedboat and armoured gunboats in Benin-city, the Executive Chairman, Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Area Development Commission (EDSOGPADEC) Board, Pastor Kennedy Osifo, said the governor’s desire to create a peaceful and rancour-free atmosphere to boost the economy of the state influenced the purchase of the boats.

He noted that to complement the efforts of the governor in curbing crime and criminal activities in the state, his board had built Marine Posts at Gelegele in Ovia North East Local Government Area and Ologbo in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government
