The All Progressives Congress Primary Election Committee has announced Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the winner of Edo governorship primary election.
Senator Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo state who doubles as the committee chairman made the announcement in Benin City on Monday.
According to him, other aspirants had stepped down ahead of the conduct of the primary election, making it just a mere formality.
Governor Uzodinma added that the conduct of the primary is in accordance with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Prompt News recalls that Pastor Ize-Iyamu contested the Edo governorship election in 2016, but under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but lost to the incumbent, Governor Godwin Obaseki, who has now moved to the PDP.
