Oyo State Governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, is currently having difficulties in appointing people into his administration because of power sharing arrangement agreed to before the last governorship election, investigation by our correspondent has revealed.

For instance, the governor is in a dilemma on who to appoint as the Secretary to the Government.

According to checks by our correspondent, before last March’s governorship poll, Makinde had to enter into political alliance with a number of political groups and interests.

The situation was necessitated by the fierce battle between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to clinch the governorship seat.

In the arrangement, Makinde and his party, the PDP, agreed to have 50 percent of the positions.

Former Governor Rashidi Ladoja, who promoted the Zenith Labour Party and its candidates in the general elections, got 15 percent.

Action Democratic Congress of Senator Femi Lanlehin, was given 30 percent and other parties got the remaining five percent.

The percentage each group got was based on their political strength.

However, it was gathered that Ladoja is keen on getting Sharafadeen Alli appointed as the SSG.

Alli served in the same capacity when Ladoja was governor.

The position of Ladoja on the SSG, it was gathered, did not go down well with Lanlehin and others.

Incidentally, it was Ladoja who promoted ADC and Lanlehin to a point before the elections, but the former governor left to promote ZLB because of disagreement over who should be the deputy governorship candidate of the ADC.

As a way of finding means to move forward his administration, Governor Makinde had to appoint Senator Hosea Agboola, as the Chairman, Governor Advisory Council.

Apart from Senator Agboola, the governor has only appointed his Chief of Staff and Chief Press Secretary.
