Many sympathisers followed the corpses in two buses to the Emir’s palace.

The spokesman for the Katsina Emirate council, Mallam Iro Bindawa, who attended to the sympathisers, said the Emir sympathized with them over the incident and advised them to ask the district head of the village to forward an official letter to the palace on the incident, detailing circumstances surrounding the incident.

Bindawa said, “His eminence has directed me to tell them that they should tell their district head to forward an official letter on the incident to the palace for onward dispatch to security operatives. The Emir sympathized with them and advised that the corpses be taken to the village for proper burial.”

The Spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, also confirmed the incident.

He said the victims were attacked on their farmland in the morning, adding that the victims’ farm was close to one of the bases of the bandits.
